Edelman's EGA Names Aaron Guiterman U.S. Head of Public Affairs
April 18, 2024 – WASHINGTON, D.C. – EGA, Edelman’s Government and Public Affairs business unit, has announced the appointment of Aaron Guiterman as head of its U.S. Public Affairs operation, effective April 29. A former nine-year veteran of Edelman, he will manage a team of experts across the U.S. to provide globally integrated business and government advisory services. EGA's U.S. team supports a deep bench of clients to effectively navigate and leverage government policies, international institutions, and evolving geopolitical dynamics. Guiterman will report to Rob Rehg, Global Chair – Client & Services, EGA.
“At this critical moment, clients are increasingly seeking strategic counsel to promote and protect their license to operate at the Federal, state and local levels. Aaron’s return deepens EGA’s ability to be the trusted counselor as brands, politics and culture intersect within the beltway and beyond,” said Matt Harrington, Global President and Chief Operating Officer, Edelman. “Aaron’s understanding of the D.C. landscape and expertise in Public Affairs, crisis, digital, and C-suite advisory is invaluable. I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Aaron back.”
Guiterman returns to EGA from BCW where he has served as the EVP, Market Leader for their Washington, D.C. office. Previously at Edelman, Guiterman oversaw Energy and Industrials Policy and served as Chief Innovation Officer, within EGA. He also held various roles including head of Digital Public Affairs, and Group Director of Strategy and Planning at Edelman.
“In today’s volatile geopolitical environment, brands must identify the opportunities and navigate the risks posed by evolving political, legislative and regulatory agendas,” said Guiterman. “I am beyond excited to return to EGA at this pivotal time in politics and lead the industry’s premier public affairs advisory team forward.”
Before Guiterman joined Edelman, he was Vice President, Digital Strategy with DDC Advocacy for three years. Prior to that, he worked at several agencies including Glover Park Group, McCann Erickson and Young & Rubicam Advertising. Guiterman’s career began in the office of U.S. Senator Hank Brown of Colorado, where he was an intern.
EGA, a division of Edelman, experienced over 30% growth in CY23 through new client wins and existing client growth. It provides counsel on market entry and exit, political risk, government affairs, sustainability, crisis management, integrated campaigns, as well as policy making within domestic and international government institutions and forums.
Over the last two years EGA has expanded its capabilities and geographic reach through the acquisition of Landmark Public Affairs (Landmark), a public affairs and strategic communications agency with offices in Brussels, London, Singapore, and New York, and Distrito Relações Governamentais (Distrito) a regulatory specialty shop based in Brasília, Brazil’s capital.
